Roughing it

It is not easy catching all of my good side at the same time, but, well, here it is. Posted by Picasa

Ready for anything!

Waiting for our ride to the Batu Caves. Posted by Picasa

Batu Caves

270 plus steps to the top! Monkeys, Lizards and Snakes... Oh my. Posted by Picasa

The one on the right looks fresher!

In the better restaurants you get to choose your meat before they cook it. Not really. These two, along with a python, were available for pictures at the Batu Caves. I don't know if the Iguana is native to Malaysia, but I did see several Monitor Lizards on our trip to the caves. Posted by Picasa

Monkey Snack

Half way up the steps to the temple we encountered about 10 monkeys. They like to beg for food and are well known as pick-pockets. We were instructed to keep hold of our cameras and wallets. Posted by Picasa

Tea by the Towers

After a long hard day of wandering the streets of Kuala Lumpur a spot of tea by the towers is quite refreshing. Posted by Picasa

Fish farms all along the river. Ther region south of Vigan is one of the largest sources of farmed fish in the Philippines. There are farms on many of this regions rivers. Posted by Picasa

Lone Donkey

Just waiting take someone for a ride through the peaceful streets. Many little shops to visit where you can pickup hand-rolled cigars, homemade vinegar, pottery, or countless woven goods. Posted by Picasa

Me in the streets of Vigan

Posing for a quick picture after lunch in Vigan. Good lunch - pancit and a calamunci juice. Vigan is a village in the northwestern province of Luzon that has retained much of its Spanish architectural influence. Posted by Picasa

The Stockdales

Tina and Dave at the beginning of a long Friday night. Dave is doing his best to help improve my golf game. I am afraid it may be in vain. Posted by Picasa

Dessert!

My dessert after brunch. I did share a bit with Nickie. Posted by Picasa

Sunday Brunch

Tina and Carol enjoying some Champagne. Well Tina anyway, Carol was nursing a sore throat with some hot tea. I drank her share. Posted by Picasa

Welcome to Bedrock!

This is a house on our street that reminds me of the Flintstones. There are several Embassies and Consulates on our street. So far I have seen the following countries (no particular order): Mexico, Monaco, Nigeria, India, Egypt, Vanuatu, Turkey and Iran. Also in our village are: Iraq, Kuwait, Libya, China, Papua New Guinea, Qatar, Romania, Russia, and Sri Lanka. Posted by Picasa

Christmas Decorations

They just put the Christmas decorations up yesterday at the gate to our village. It may seem early, but here they start playing Holiday music and selling the Christmas decorations at the beginning of September. The "ber" months appear to be fair game when it comes to Christmas. There is a house on our street that has had there Christmas decorations up since I arrived at the beginning of October. When Halloween came around they just decorated right around the big stuffed Santa Claus climbing the mango tree in their front yard. Posted by Picasa

While I was standing there it started pouring rain and the Koi thought someone was feeding them. You can just make them out below the water in the middle of the picture. Posted by Picasa

This is one of the gardens at the Greenbelt Mall, near the Manila Art Museum. If you look close at the water you can see the ripples from the Koi swimming around. Posted by Picasa
